How to donate?
At DeeDa, we aim to provide you with a seamless and secure donation experience. If you own a credit/debit card for online transactions, all you need to do is click on the
button at any of our campaign pages and key in your card details.

What are the charges like if I donate?
DeeDa is a free online platform and hence, there will be no additional charges for donating other than debit/credit card surcharges.
Can I donate through other payment methods?
We currently only accept donations through debit or credit card. But we are happy to connect you to our charity partners for other methods of donation albeit this would take a few days to process with the additional administrative procedure involved. Hence, we highly recommend that you donate on Deeda’s platform directly.
Can I donate non-cash items?
We do not take any material goods. However, you may refer to the contact details of our charity partners on our platform and get in touch with them on the necessary arrangements.
When will I be charged for my monthly donation?
Your donation will be processed on the same date as per your first-time donation every month. (For example, should you donate on 1st January 2018 and opt for monthly donation, the next donation will be processed automatically on 1st February 2018)
How do I cancel my monthly donation or change to make it a one-time donation?
If you have created an account with us when you made your donation, you can log in to cancel your monthly donation in 3 simple steps:

1. Go to ‘My Account’ tab at the top of the page
2. Click on ‘Monthly’ to view your monthly donations
3. Press ‘cancel’.
If you have not yet created an account, you can sign up to create one with the email you used to make the donation and follow the steps above to cancel or modify to a one-time donation only.
Can I change the name of my donation?
Unfortunately, the donor name reflected is the name you used to create your account and you would not be able to amend your name.
I have changed my mind about my donation. Can I have a refund?
Donations made are non-refundable.
Why is my donation not tax-deductible?
Only charities registered with Institutions of a Public Character (IPC) status are able to issue tax deductible receipts for qualifying donations to donors. If you would like to obtain a tax-deduction, you may donate to our IPCs charity partners with
icons.

Kindly take note that filling in your NRIC or UEN information is required for tax deduction when you donate to IPC-status charities as well.
How do I get a tax-deductible receipt?
When you have donated successfully, the IPC-status charity will send your donation details to the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS) to declare for a tax deduction. This tax deduction will automatically be reflected iyn your individual tax assessment. If you would like a confirmation, you can write to the charity, keep the confirmation email from DeeDa (you will receive upon completing your donation) as proof and request for a receipt from them directly.
How much of the donations made on DeeDa go to the charity/beneficiary?
We do not charge any platform fees and there will only be a card transaction fee of 1.5% for Visa/Mastercard and 3.25% for Amex charged by our payment gateway partner Stripe for the donation amount pledged. This means, for a donation of $100, the charity will receive $98.5 for Visa/Mastercard donation and $96.75 for Amex donation.
How do I know that my donation will reach the charity that I donated to?
An authorized representative from each charity listed on DeeDa completes an Application Form which provides the charity's bank account number and bears the original signatures of the charity. DeeDa receives this form and verifies this information. 100% of donations received on our platform are then disbursed by Stripe, a payment gateway that processes online transactions, to the charity on a weekly or monthly basis, depending on the volume of the funds.
How do I know if my donation is successful?
After you’ve made your donation, you’ll receive an email notification of its status to the email you have provided.
Why can’t my donation go through?
There may be a few reasons for this failure:
1. Typos in card details (name, number CVV code or expiry date)
2. Insufficient funds or card declines by credit card issuers
3. Brower issues or internet connectivity
You could troubleshoot this by:
1. Attempt to using a different credit card
2. Try donating again using a different web browser and/or device.
If it does not work, please contact our team and we'll help you troubleshoot your donation.
I was charged an extra 10% for tips. Why do I have to pay for this?
Tips are completely optional. DeeDa is a free platform that does not take in any transaction fees from the donations. We solely rely on tips to provide a 0% platform fee to our charity fundraisers and run our operations and marketing to help spread the good word. If you would like to opt out, simply click on ‘Edit’ and select ‘Other’ on the donation page. See example below:

Is it safe to make a transaction through your platform?
Yes. DeeDa only works with Stripe who is an international, PCI Service Provider Level 1 certified payment gateway provider, making it one of the safest platforms. All data and transactions are encrypted on our server using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology to ensure your information is safe.
We are also fully compliant with the Personal Data Protection Act and hence, all information will not be disclosed to anyone otherwise approved by the donor.
I would like to start a fundraiser, how should I proceed?
DeeDa is an online fundraising platform for registered charities in Singapore. As such, we only manage individual cases through these charities.
If you require individual support, you can try looking at our charitable organizations and see which charity is able to cater to your needs and contact them.
Will I receive a receipt for my donation?
There will be no receipt issued. Instead, we will issue you a confirmation email with your donation details.
Can I volunteer or visit any of the beneficiaries featured in the campaigns?
Sure. We have a volunteer page that features all the volunteering activities available with our charity partners. You can check them out here.
If you would like to visit the beneficiaries, kindly contact the charities directly and make a request.
What happens to my donation if the campaign doesn't reach its fundraising target?
Your donation will still go towards helping the beneficiary. The fundraising goal is often derived based on estimated costs. In most cases, there is already an ongoing plan/program that needs to be paid off. As such, DeeDa will payout the donations to the respective Donee at regular intervals throughout the course of the campaign.
What happens if the campaign exceeds the donation target?
When charities start a campaign, they are prompted to set a donation target that is based on estimated expenses to ensure transparency and accountability.
Sometimes, the donations might exceed the required amount due to overwhelming support from generous donors.
In any event where there is a mismatch between the fundraised amount and the required amount, we will consider the situation on a case by case basis.
Some examples:
If there is a change in the food or goodie bag distribution campaign by a charity, we will encourage the charity to post an update to all donors to share their reasons and how they plans to manage the excess donations.
What happens when the campaign which I have opted-in for monthly donation to, has ended?
By default, monthly donations to the specific campaign will be converted to monthly donations to the campaign's charity's general page when the campaign has ended.
When you have opted-in for monthly donation to a specific campaign and that campaign has ended before the next charge of your monthly donation, you will receive an email notification informing you that the campaign you have monthly donation to has ended.
You can choose to cancel your monthly donation anytime following the instructions in the email if you do not wish to continue with the monthly donation.
